Batteries for Casio watches – a guide to the proper selection of batteries
Are some watch functions not working properly ? [e.g. digital time blinks, sensors or radio sync are not activated,] not activated? Does recharging by daylight no longer help? Is the electronic display starting to “fade out” or displaying strange symbols ? Are the hands stopped ? Does the backlighting illuminate the display poorly ?

The cause of all these symptoms may be a defective or dead battery and it must be replaced. Where and what type of battery to buy? How to change it? Answers to these and other questions in this article.
How do I know the name of the battery ?
Enter a watch model into the search engine and search on Casio official websites:

Insert the name of the series or module (on the back of the watch).
This is how you will find the information in the official description of the specifications.
But we have already compiled a complete list of current Casio models with the corresponding battery names. The list is sorted for easy searching by watch line and alphabet – G-Shock, Baby-G, Edifice and ProTrek.

We recommend having the battery replaced by an authorized Casio service center, because it is very difficult to maintain a tight seal by taking the wristwatch apart and putting it back together yourself. But if you want to do it yourself, you can read our material on replacing the battery at home on the model pages.
The list of standard batteries in Casio watches is usually marked CR or SR ( you can buy batteries from a reliable partner by clicking on the links):
Casio “solar” batteries
Solar batteries are also divided into specific models. Here already fundamental differences in some parameters, such as the nominal capacity or operating voltage. The most common are such as – CTL but there are others. Service life of these batteries is higher than conventional batteries, and is usually more than 10 years. They are charged by daylight – simply wear the watch on your wrist with the sleeve uncovered or leave it on a window sill on a sunny day for a couple of hours.
Normally, the HI indicator is on when the watch is charged and the LO indicator when it is off.

Important: The watch must have a special solar panel in order to recharge the battery. In any other model without a panel the batteries will not work
